There are dozens of reasons that you might have picked the Great Smoky Mountains as your vacation spot. Perhaps you’re getting married and have decided to honeymoon in one of our special couples’ cabins. Maybe you’re headed there with your family for a summer vacation. Maybe you’re attending a family reunion, or perhaps you just decided to see why it’s one of the most visited areas in the country.
When you plan your Tennessee vacation, you’re going to have to decide what to do with your pets. For a lot of people, they’re important members of the family. If your pets are up for the trip, you might be considering bringing them along! After all, with all the great hiking trails, your dog might just enjoy some long walks through the Smoky Mountains National Park. Your kids will enjoy having the family pet along, and you won’t have to worry that they’re pining away with you not there to look after them.
It’s important that you find a pet friendly cabin that accommodates pets. There are plenty of them that do, of various sizes. There is everything from a cozy cabin meant for a couple to a large cabin that sleeps twelve that will allow your family pet to stay in it. In most instances you’ll have to pay a flat, non-refundable pet deposit, but it’s definitely worth the small expense to get to bring your energetic animal pal along.
When you go out to enjoy the beautiful scenery, the long hikes, and the occasional sighting of wildlife, you can take your pet pooch with you. They’re going to enjoy the trails as much as you do! Think of all the scents they’ll get to smell. Don’t be surprised if you get pulled one way and then another!
Just make sure that your pet is well-behaved, leash and crate trained. You’re not going to want him to run off and be unable to call him back. You also don’t want him tearing up the pet friendly cabin that you’re going to stay in. That’s a quick way to ruin a vacation. But not to worry! As long as your pet is well-behaved, he can actually make your vacation all that much more fun! Make sure to have your kids walk him every night before bed, so he can burn off some of that energy. Having man’s best friend along sometimes makes all the difference in the world, and if you can bring your pet with you, more power to you!
